The project supported ESCAP in implementing its project on “Enhancing knowledge and capacity for the management of disaster risks for a resilient future in Asia and the Pacific”. Key activities undertaken are: a) Development of a strategy paper for bringing together ongoing pilot projects on Regional Drought Mechanism and the Monsoon Forums in Cambodia, Myanmar, Nepal, and Sri Lanka; b) Development of analytical overview of methodologies for climate risk assessment and impact outlook for slow onset disasters to support mainstreaming DRR and climate change adaptation, particularly in the agriculture sector, including the review and compilation of climate risk assessment methodologies and impact outlooks of El Nino, La Nina, drought, and dry spells; c) Development of guidelines on mainstreaming disaster risk reduction, including those related to climate change adaptation across the agriculture, water, and water-related sectors of national development planning
